I play violin, and from Fall 1996 to Spring 2001 I performed in the Occidental-Caltech Orchestra, led by Dr. Allen Gross and primary composed of musicians who also happen to be undergraduates from the two colleges. The group is filled out by various community people, including employees of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The group regularly performs at Thorne Hall at Occidental College and at Ramo Auditorium at the California Institute of Technology. Below are some of the last pieces we performed while I was there.

Our last concerts on March 9 at Occidental and 10 at Caltech:
  • Beethoven: "Egmont" Overture
  • Walton: Viola Concerto
  • Dvorak: Symphony No. 8 in G Major
  • Our next concert on May 1 at 8 pm at Occidental only:
  • Bordin: Symphony No. 2
  • Orff: Carmina Burana
  • On May 11 at 8 pm at Dabney Lounge:
  • Waltz night
  • On May 19 at 8 pm at Ramo only:
  • Bordin: Symphony No. 2
  • and to be announced

I also play a variety of pieces on piano. Click for a 300kB snippet of me back in 1991 playing the third movement of Beethoven's "Moonlight" Sonata.
